Funds are needed for Dental Surgery to save the life a Florida Grey Squirrel that goes by the name of Marven, he was born March 2011 and has been Dx with Malocclusion - an often fatal tooth disorder, a birth defect known as Cleft Palette (hairlip) with slow mental development that has impaired his over all daily judgement, and partical to total blindness in his right eye.
A well respected Vet has recommended that Marven's four front teeth be removed soon after he has turned five months old. The Cleft Palatte will be repaired at the same time. Squirrels DO NOT use their four front teeth to eat with - they use their 20 side and back molars to chew their food with.
The procedure needed to save Marven's life will be performed as a means to reduce the risk of death to Marven every time he has to have his teeth clipped if we were to leave the four front teeth in for the remaining years of his precious life... which could be any where from 10 to 20 years.
